On Saturday, Sept. 23rd, 1882 at 11:00 a.m., Santa Fe Baptist Church was organized at Union on Snow Creek Road. The first Pastor was Roland Hull. A Sunday School was organized on Jan. 28th,1883 at Santa Fe School House with 44 members enrolled. On a Saturday in March 1883, a site was purchased in the village of Santa Fe. A building committee was appointed in June 1883. On the third Sunday in November 1883, the dedication of the Church was held.

The first Hymnals  used  was the Baptist Hymnal, purchased in February 1885. The first Women's Missionary Union was organized in January 1886. A bell was purchased for the Church in 1886. Electricity was installed in May 1940. During World War II, many people in the community came to prayer services each Sunday night on behalf of the war effort, the soldiers, and their families. A small light was left burning in the Church house continually during the war.

Gas heat was installed in the Church in early 1950. In June 1965, the sanctuary of the Church was completely remodeled Six new Sunday School rooms have since been added. Other improvements from the 70's until present include bathrooms, water fountain, paved parking lot, Baptistry, new flooring, carpeting, pews, central heat-air, new roof, front entrance, lighted sign, new fellowship hall, and projection and sound system.

Our current average attendance for Sunday School is 60, and the average attendance for Morning Worship is 85.
